LISTEN TO: Is Your Inner Compass Working?

Hi guys! Welcome to Episode 660 of the Wildly Successful Lifestyle podcast. I’m Heidi, it’s so good to be with you.

I love that we get to hang out twice a week, even if it’s just for 10 minutes or so at a time. We are making real progress with every episode. If you’re here, I already know something lovely about you: you’re one of those people who’s committed to becoming the best version of yourself. And podcasts like this—short, heartfelt ones—I like to think of them as little love notes from your own inner guidance system….the one that knows what’s best for you.

Our inner guidance system is always there, quietly nudging you toward what’s truly good for you. Sometimes outside life gets loud—social media, Netflix, other people’s voices in your head—and that inner guidance can feel pretty far away. But it never actually leaves. It’s always trying to reach you. All we have to do is create a little space to listen.

That’s what I am thinking about today: How often dose truly check in with our inner compass? You can probably guess without much work by checking in with your life… Does life feel like it’s flowing in the right direction? Does it feel, deep down, like you’re living on your own terms?

I’ve always been pretty good at following my inner compass, even though my outer sense of direction is hilariously bad. Eric and our friends will tease me about it—“Don’t follow Heidi!”—and they’re right. But that inner pull? It has guided me through so much. When I’ve made mistakes (and I’ve made some big ones), I was able to course-correct, even when it was the harder path, simply by listening to that quiet knowing inside. Looking back, those very mistakes became some of the most important teachers I’ve ever had. They helped me choose the life I truly wanted—the one that feels like mine.
I imagine you can look back and see a similar pattern in your own life, can’t you? Moments when you trusted that inner nudge and everything eventually made sense, even if it didn’t in the moment.

Because, Life gets busy, we have hectic schedules, all the noise—and it’s so easy to tune out that soft inner voice that’s trying to show us our best way. But when we slow down and actually check in, everything shifts. You know that deep-down “knowing”? It doesn’t yell or flash bright lights. It’s more like a peaceful feeling in your chest, a gentle pull, a quiet yes or no that feels like truth.

Wayne Dyer used to speak about intuition as your own inner sanctuary—always steady, no matter how chaotic the world around you becomes. He reminded us that the answers we seek are never outside of us; they’re already whispering within. And Tony Robbins often says our decisions shape our destiny—not the big public ones everyone sees, but those quiet, private moments when we choose to trust what we feel instead of what looks good on paper.
That’s the heart of a wildly successful lifestyle, learning to listen to that inner compass and let it lead.

And look, it’s pretty easy to tune in to our own guidance system, but it’s even easier to drown it out. So, how do we make sure we’re not drowning it out?

For me, it happens most naturally in meditation, or when I sit outside in the quiet, or even on a gentle run where I leave the music off and just listen to myself. You might find your own way—maybe in the shower, in the car, or right before sleep. The important thing is to create even a few minutes each day where you ask: “What do I need to know right now?” and then wait, without forcing an answer.

Don’t rush. Just breathe and listen. The answer might come as a feeling, a word, a memory, or even a sense of peace. If nothing comes right away, that’s okay too. You’re building the habit of turning inward, and that alone is powerful.

When we do this regularly, we stop second-guessing ourselves so much. We stop carrying what isn’t ours. We start making decisions from that deep, centered place instead of from fear or people-pleasing. And life begins to feel lighter, more aligned, more ours.

Honestly, your inner compass has never led you wrong—not really. Even the detours were part of the path that brought you here, right now, listening to this.
You don’t have to have it all figured out. You only have to keep checking in, keep trusting that gentle voice, and keep choosing—again and again—to follow it. That’s how we create a wildly successful life: not by being perfect, but by being true to the wisdom that lives inside us.

So here’s my challenge to you today:
Take one quiet moment sometime in the next twenty-four hours and check in with your inner compass. Ask it what it wants you to know. Then trust whatever rises. Even if it feels small. Even if it feels scary. That single act of listening is how real freedom begins.

If this episode touched something in you, I’d love to hear about it. Come find me on youtube or Spotify and tell me what your inner compass is whispering to you lately. Share this with a friend who needs a little reminder that they’re being gently guided too.
And the one thing I do know it would tell you if you listened is this….You are already on the perfect path. You are already enough. You are already free.

I love you guys, I’ll talk to you in a few days ❤️
