Hi guys! Welcome to the 11th episode of the Wildly Successful Lifestyle podcast!
So over the weekend a friend said something to me that just really resonated with me and made me laugh so I am going to start this episode with that because it leads beautifully into the topic for today of consistency.
She said that We are living a dog’s life right now. And if you are listening to this during quarantine you’ll understand and if you are listening later….you’ll remember…LOL
What does that mean we’re Living a dog’s life?
We are instructed that it is not polite nor ok to come near or touch the humans the we see
We are in the house all day constantly hoping and looking for treats
And the bright spot of our day is our daily walk or better yet…car ride!
Oh my goodness…I laughed so hard because it’s so true!!! And you know what? That is a dog’s life and they are so happy that way. That is kind of a good description of a Wildly successful dog’s life…ha But what about us? What this is teaching us for sure, is we are made for more. Most of us want more than just hanging out around the house, avoiding people, getting treats and hoping for a car ride. Don’t get me wrong I believe this is giving us and the earth a much needed break and it also provides contrast for us so that when we get back to our friends, family, favorite restaurants, the gym, our coworkers, concerts, sports, whatever your passion is we are going to love and appreciate them so much more.
We are meant for more and That’s why this is such a challenge for us. especially if you are listening to this podcast, you are either a friend of mine and you are supporting me and I love you even more for that or you’re a leader in life and want more. You want to be wildly successful in some or all areas of your life. You lead in your company, your family, or your community.
There is one ingredient that is universal and is part of the formula for success just about 100% of the time. And that’s consistency. Consistency in the most important areas of our lives.
Consistency in diet and exercise
Consistency in mindset work
Consistency with your finances
Consistency to relationships
Consistency in your career
Consistency in your hobbies, skincare, maintenance whatever your passion in life is!
The key to living a wildly successful life is consistency. Think about it. In our exercise for example….you aren’t going to start out running 5 miles but if you consistently do something every single day for exercise you will benefit regardless and just showing up to work out WE are going to have days that we knock it out of the ballpark and we are going to have days where it isn’t so great. If you aren’t consistently working out right now is it because you think you have to do 45 minutes or it is not effective? Look! Often when I was just starting out with the gym I wouldn’t want to go but I would tell myself I’m going to just sit in the sauna and that’s it…it got me used to going to the gym….and often it lead to at least a little exercise but eventually my consistency turned into an addiction to working out which is what I call a good addiction to have. I have NOT always had that, but I do now because of my consistency. Decide right this minute to be consistent in one area of your life…and take action with it. Write it down, put it in your planner, tell a friend to keep you accountable. “Action breeds action” and it just may spill over into the rest of your life.
You aren’t always going to get it right. Every single successful person has failed MULTIPLE times but they kept going in spite of that…consistency works!
It works for all the major areas of our life. Remember you are not always going to have an amazing workout or meeting or amazing night with your spouse or kids or amazing breakthrough during meditation but if you consistently SHOW up and do the work, you will succeed because you will continue to learn, grow and get better at anything you do. You only fail if you quit or never start.
I started out talking about us living a dog’s life…let’s leave a dog’s life to our furry friends and let’s be what we are meant to be WILDLY successful in whatever we decide to do!
Love you guys! Talk to you in a few days!
